Best Digital Marketing Books For Beginners, Or For Any Level

Best Digital Marketing Books For Beginners
Best Digital Marketing Books For Beginners

Got something I’ve been thinking about since yesterday actually, about the best digital marketing books for beginners, and specifically for you.

I thought this would be a really, really helpful topic for many of you reading this.

And this applies regardless of whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or an advanced digital marketer.

So let me ask you this…

How Do You Know What To Study?

All of us, as entrepreneurs, as business owners… we are continually educating, we are continually learning new things, we’re continually discovering new things, through trial and error of just simply taking action ourselves.

We’re discovering every day that we take action, whether we discover something that works, whether do we discover something that doesn’t work, whether we are learning from a product that we purchased, whether we’re learning from a mentor that we’ve invested in, whether we are learning from our peers, whether we are learning from our competition, whether we are learning from the audios or podcasts or books.

You Shouldn't Try And Learn Everything
You Shouldn’t Try And Learn Everything

Whatever medium it’s coming to you in, we are always learning and always evolving. And so you should be. But you shouldn’t try and learn everything, right? And…

This Is A Mistake That People Make All The Time

I’ve done it. I remember there was this one time a couple years ago. I don’t regret this decision actually. But just to emphasise a point; I was thinking to myself, “Oh my gosh, I do not know enough stuff!”

At that stage, my business was already doing incredibly well. I’d already generated millions in dollars in sales when I had this thought. This is only like two years ago.

And so, what it stemmed from was… I just converted a double garage into a home office and video studio in our new home that we moved into two and a half years ago.

Now I had a bookshelf in there, and it stood with about four books on it. And I was like,

“I Do Not Know Enough Stuff!”

…“I have not bought enough books in my life!”

So I went to Amazon and I literally ordered about 50… like, hundreds of dollars worth of books. All the so-called great books, you know. Ask anyone what are the top 20 best books and these were the top ones.

Things like Russell Brunson’s books, Product Launch Formula, and Influence, and yeah, all the greats, right? And so I bought them all. Now the books arrived, and most of them have gone unread. I was like, “Oh, I just scratched that itch!”

But, the point being is, that even if I had a read them all – that wouldn’t have been the right thing to do.

And Here’s The Best Digital Marketing Books For Beginners Tip…

How do you know what you should study? Which of the best digital marketing books for beginners should you be reading? Let’s just say, if you were going to spend an hour a day studying, what should you spend that hour doing?

And here’s the answer: Whatever is relevant to where you’re at right now, okay?

If you are going to be doing product launches, it would make sense to study up on product launches.

If you are building an email list, it makes perfect sense to study list building and email copywriting, right? In which case, I would probably put my attention on, and would buy something like Autoresponder Madness by Andre Chaperon… Become a) great at writing emails that people a want to read, and b) get a reaction and c) create sales, okay?

Read And Study Whatever's Relevant To Where You're At Right Now

If you were a coach or consultant, it would make sense that you learn how to generate interest in your product or program, y’know… Get applications or make sales on a webinar.

If you say, “Well I’ve got a program it’s going to sell for two thousand dollars, I want to sell this through a webinar”. And you want to learn how to create great webinar presentations that convert. In which case, go for something like Russell Brunson’s Perfect Webinar Scripts, and study the heck out of that.

If you were going to be selling your… if your program was $5,000, $10,000 or more, then you’re probably going to need to sell that on the phone. So it would make sense if you’re going to do it yourself, that you learn how to do phone sales – you learn how to talk to people on the phone.

So What I’m Getting At Is…

Wherever you’re at in your business right now, whether you’re beginning or you’ve chosen an avenue… Study and put in your education time – if that’s 30 minutes a day, 60 minutes a day, whatever it is – put that time into the studying and becoming great at where you’re at right now.

This approach has become more and more clear to me recently.

I’ve spent countless hours studying the behaviour of our clients and our partners in our Certified Partner program.

What separates those that succeed from those that seem to stay stuck or get distracted. What are the differences?

Why do we have hundreds of people that have gone on to get great results, and a small percentage of people that have stayed stuck, and stalled? Why is that?

Study And Master Just What You Need To Know For Your Next Step

Well I’ve discovered that those that succeed are focused on what they need to know now, and…

Execute Ruthlessly!

And so, for you – how do you know what to spend your time learning? Whatever it is that you are focused on now, to get to that next step.

If that next step is actually just to establish yourself online and get started, then you need to put your time into learning how to get started – what are those initial steps?

If you’re up and running and you’ve made say a thousand dollars already, how do you take that forward? How do you make that consistent? How do you grow that? How do you make going from a thousand a month, to five thousand, to ten thousand a month?

You study and you become great at what you need to know right now, okay?

And so with that said, I hope you found that helpful and now know how to decide which are the best digital marketing books for beginners (or indeed at any level), specifically relevant for yourself.

Have a great day, have a great week, and The Drive will be back with Entrepreneurship Motivational Speech: Gotta Do What You Gotta Do. Until then take care, bye bye.
