“Good morning my friend, we are back. Dean here of course. We are on the way to Internet Profits headquarters. It is 7:51 in the morning right now and the sun is shining.

Now I want to answer a simple question today. And that is this…

Is It Possible To Get Rich With No Work, Or Little Work?

It’s kind of a good question. Because y’know, when I first started out and I first discovered – we’re going back to 2004, that kind of era. When we go back there, when I first found that people were making money on the internet, and it was something so bizarre to me.

So like, what!? You can make money online? And I began being fascinated by it. Obsessed with it really. Like trawling all the forums, all the blogs. Consuming every bit of content I could. Reading articles, trawling social media sites.

There were different sites back then as well, like Squidoo lenses. People may or may not even know about those, or remember those from that long ago. And I would learn all that I could.

Then before long, I obviously found people’s products and courses. And I remember thinking like, “Hang on a minute! You can just pay a hundred dollars and learn how this rich person is making all this money?”

Follow A Couple Of Steps, And I’ll Be Making Rich Money

And a lot of the sales pages would promise, in not so many terms, riches untold for very little or no work. I remember thinking like, “Wow! This looks so easy. They’re saying it’s so simple. And look at all the results they’re getting. Look at all the money they’re making!”

I remember thinking, “Wow! They make more in seven days than I make in ten years of work! And they’re telling me it’s not very difficult. They’re telling me it doesn’t require a lot of work. That I can just follow a couple of steps, and I’ll be making rich money like they are!”

So I started buying the courses, and I’d follow them through to the tee. And it just didn’t happen for me. Not only did I not get rich, I didn’t even make a single sale. And so I’d buy another course that seemed a little bit different. Maybe it would happen this time. And I’d buy another course and I’d think, “Maybe this is the time. This could be the one.”

Twenty Four Years Old And Over $60,000 Of Debt

And I’d do it again, and again, and again. The more courses I bought, the more frustrated I became. The more frustrated I became, the more frantically I started buying. And the more frantically I started buying, the more overwhelmed I was, the more confused I was, the more money I’d lost, the more debt I’d eventually start getting into.

And over the course of about four years I’d maxed out four four credit cards. I had a fifth that had a little bit of spending power on it still. First bank loan I got was to clear the credit cards. The intention was that I would tear the credit cards up, and then that would be it. I would stop getting into debt.

But stupidly I didn’t tear up the credit cards. So I used them again, and then I got another loan. And so in the end, I was in my mid-20s – about twenty four years old – and in over $60,000 of debt. Five credit cards, two bank loans, and living a complete hell.

But… [sarcasm] The ‘good’ thing was, is that you could follow a product, buy a course for fifty bucks, and get rich quick with little to no work.

And Here’s The Truth, Right?

It is hard work to change your life. It requires dedication, commitment, sacrifice, and time, money, and effort. And you’ve got to really want it. Because if you don’t really want it, you won’t do what it takes.

And the reason I share this message with you is… Because, until you accept that reality, you will never get rich. You will never get what you want.

When I say ‘rich’ by the way, rich means different things, success means different things to different people. Rich could mean simply making an extra few hundred dollars a month to you, right? And just having that extra comfort. Or rich could mean making millions of dollars.

I don’t know what ‘rich’ or ‘success’ means to you. But if you want it, you’ve got to TRULY want it. You’ve got to understand the reality.

Now Here’s The Great News

If you are doing what you love, which – to start with maybe you won’t be. Because it’s gonna require a lot of sacrifice. If you’re working a full-time job and you’re trying to build a business as well, it takes a lot of sacrifice, right?

And so you’re gonna have to sometimes spend time on it when you’d rather be doing something else, okay? So it’s harder earlier on. But it gets easier when you start getting the results. It gets easier when you start seeing the sacrifices paying off. And it gets easier when things start becoming more enjoyable.

Because you end up in a situation where I am so grateful to be right now. Where you can actually run a business, have everything that you want, and yet still never ‘work’ a day in your life.

Now what do I mean by that? Because it’s 7:57 in the morning right now. And yet here I am at Internet Profits HQ ready to start my day, build my business, and keep doing everything that we do. Growing and scaling, and working on some amazing things.

I work hard, and I work smart. And I put in the hours. But yeah, I don’t ‘work’ a day in my life anymore. Like, why? Because I frickin love what I do!

And so it gets easier. That’s the good news, that’s the tipping point you’re looking for. You’re gonna have to work hard, you’re gonna have to sacrifice. And at times you’re gonna have to do things when you’d rather be doing other stuff. But the payoff is absolutely worth it.

And So, Can You Get Rich With Little To No Work?

You can. Once you’ve done all the hard work, once you put in the effort, the time, the energy, the money, the sacrifice, the dedication, the commitment. And then you can end up in a situation where you never have to ‘work’ a day in your life. Because you’ll just be doing what you love, and that’s truly worth it.

Hang on. What day is it? Is it Friday? No, what day is it? Oh it IS Friday!!

Okay, normally this would be ‘recap of the week’. But I have something to speak about, and then I’ll do recap of the week. What the heck! Who cares. Let’s just roll with this.

So just before I come to the recap, a few big things, exciting things happened this week, that I will tell you about in a second. But I want to address something, okay?

You see, something was said on social media the other day. And I do like to see as much as I can, even if I can’t always respond to everybody. So please know your comments are read, even if I don’t always get the time to reply.

An Unavoidable Question That Needs A Full Answer

Because across all of our platforms like Facebook and… Well I say ‘all of our platforms’.  I don’t even bother with most. I should, but I don’t. Facebook and YouTube mainly.

But somebody said the other day, “You know what Dean, it looks like things are going amazingly well in your business. But why is it you still get up so early?”

I think this stemmed from over the last couple of weeks. If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that I’ve been getting into the office and starting my work online pretty early, right? Much earlier than I needed to.

I’m pretty much always the first there. I’ve literally been going in some days at like 6 am. And some of these days as well, I’ve been there to like 9 pm, 10 pm, even midnight on one day.

And somebody said like, “Why?…

“It Doesn’t Look Like You’re Living The Life Of An Internet Entrepreneur”

There’s this whole thing of like y’know, working on the beach or being able to do whatever you want. And believe me I can, to a degree, live the life of an internet entrepreneur like that.

If you think about it, over the last four or five months I have been on a Eastern Caribbean cruise. I have spent five days at the Disney parks. Been in Orlando, Florida and done some awesome stuff there. Spoke on stage with Tony Robbins. I have spent seven or eight days in Greece, in the Mediterranean. Cruised around the Med in a boat. Some amazing experiences, y’know.

But here’s the thing. Here’s the big crux of this whole thing, right? You might look at me and see like, “Oh, your business is amazing. You’ve got everything you want. A nice house. Drive nice cars. You got all this kind of stuff.” And yeah, I’m truly blessed. Like my life today is unrecognizable to how it was ten years ago in the life of an internet entrepreneur.

Ten Years Ago In The Life Of An Internet Entrepreneur

Like, ten years ago I was in over sixty thousand dollars of debt, driving a crappy little car. I was working at a construction company in a job I hated, with a boss who was just a complete dick! (Sorry about that, but it’s true.)

I had like five maxed out credit cards. I was paying off two sizeable bank loans. I had a minus $3,000 plus bank account overdraft. And I was in a hellhole. Like, literally living a ‘hell’ of a life.

Today very different, clearly very different. But I don’t see that. You know what I see? I see somebody that’s just getting started.

Because I have aspirations that are bigger than I could even possibly put into words. The vision that I have, the big vision for my company and the impact that we can make in this world for our industry, is far beyond what you see today. Like this is child’s play to where we’re gonna be.

The Hustle Mentality

So, why do I still get up? Why do I work? Well let me just be clear on something. Because there’s this whole hustle, 24/7 hustle, hustle, hustle mentality, right? I hustle five days a week. Monday to Friday, I give to the world. Meaning what I put in Monday to Friday is to make an impact.

What I do on the two other days of the week is for me and my family, right? What I mean by that is, when Friday ends I’m out of here! I don’t even have a computer at home. Robyn my fiancée does, but I don’t even have my computer at home anymore.

So I don’t do anything on a weekend, right? Yeah, sometimes I’ve got my phone. If I’m bored I’ll look at Facebook, But generally speaking I don’t do anything until Monday comes back around.

So I will grind when the time is there to grind, and when the time is right. But you better believe that I have a great work/life balance. And yeah, so I wanted to just kind of answer that, in that sense.

Do You ‘Deserve’ The Weekend Off?

If you’re not where you want to be, don’t be lazy. Get up earlier, put some work in before you go to your job. Come home, work. If you’re if you’re stuck in a job you hate, like I used to be. Then you don’t deserve yet to have that weekend off. And I don’t mean that disrespectfully. But if you truly do not like your situation, change it!

I remember when I was in my full-time job. I would get up at 5-6 am, walk my dog, drive to work which was an hour’s drive. Work from 7:30 am through until 5 pm. I wouldn’t get home until gone six. I’d walk my dog, eat, and I’d get back on that computer. And I’d be there all night, sometimes until early hours of the morning. That was Monday through Friday.

Weekends, I’d get up first thing in the morning, walk my dog, and I’d work on the computer. I’m not saying I didn’t do any fun things. I’d still spend time with my partner who I was with at the time. But my main priority was to change my situation which I did not like.

And so should yours be. Especially if you’ve got family or people that are depending on you, it’s so important that you take this seriously and do what it takes. Because they may not understand what you want to do right now.

A Scam, A Fad, Some Nonsense?

A lot of people don’t ‘get’ internet marketing. They think it’s a scam, a fad, some nonsense. They think you’re being tricked and duped. But that’s because they don’t see you progressing. They don’t see you getting the results.

What they see is somebody they love sacrificing at the computer and not being around them, giving them their attention. When what you see is you are sacrificing so that you can give them more of what they deserve. More of your time, more of your attention, and have more freedom and security in their life, right? That’s the difference with the life of an internet entrepreneur.

If you’re in that situation, sometimes you see two different things. So you need to get results, so they can see the fruits of your labour. Which means stopping all the crap. Stopping all the excuses. Taking things seriously. Stopping buying all the shiny objects. Invest properly in yourself and your success, to get what you need to do things properly.

My Results Changed Their Tune

Because I tell you, people change their tune when you start getting results. The people that used to laugh at me, do not laugh anymore. There was a time (I mean, I don’t even associate with them anymore). But there was a time where I’d have work colleagues at my last job who would laugh at me, and talk about me behind my back, and would smile when they say, “How’s that internet thing going Dean, Haha?” Almost like it was a joke and it was stupid.

Those same people, when I handed my notice in, then it was more like, “You’re leaving to do your internet thing? Oh that’s interesting. Is it going well then?” Like, the tune changed. And now those same people are no doubt probably either still in the same job, or jumping from jobs they don’t like, or y’know even in a worse situation.

Me, ten years on? My life is completely different. I do what I love. Like, I come here early because to me it’s not work, right? I don’t ‘work’ a day in my life, okay? And that’s an amazing situation to be in.

Recap Of The Week

So with that said guys, of course I know this was supposed to be a recap of the week. Just to give you a quick overview, the main focus of this week has been on a webinar campaign. Setting everything up for that, and some email campaigns, follow-ups, and back-end kind of stuff.

“What is happening, my friend? How are you doing? I hope you’ve been having a fantastic week. So today, we’re gonna have a recap. But just before we get into that, I want to share a story…

Something I don’t really talk about – there’s no reason to – and not a lot of people probably know this about me… But I’m an only child – no brothers or sisters. And because of that reason, I’ve not spent a lot of time around kids.

Like, I wasn’t raised around any brothers or sisters, I have a pretty small family, and nobody that I see in my family has kids. And up until the last couple years, none of my close friends have had children.

So I was with one of my best friends from school not long ago, and he has a kid now, a young child, a toddler. I was observing him, and something funny happened. He wasn’t hurt, so therefore I can say it’s funny…

We’ve got this large long leather sofa, y’know one of those sofas that are in an L shape. And the kid got up onto the sofa, and he was stood there with his hands up against the back and sofa just standing.

All of a sudden he turned, and he just starts walking along the sofa. Nothing wrong with that, right? He’s walking and he’s coming towards the edge – and he just keeps walking, as if it’s going to carry on, as if there’s no edge. Just keeps walking!

And obviously like, boom! Falls straight off. I’m watching and I’m like, “What!?” To me that made no sense. Obviously those of you with children, grandchildren, friends with children – you’re probably like, “Dean, that’s so normal.”

So I’m looking at this and I’m thinking… That kid saw zero risk in walking off the edge of that sofa. And as I’m thinking about this, I’m realizing that obviously when you’re younger – and logical common sense tells us – that you don’t see risk until you’ve necessarily been warned of it, or hurt.

Like when you’re young, your parents will stop you putting your hand in a fire because THEY know you’ll get burned. YOU don’t. You’ve not had that experience – you play with fire, you get burned. When you first get a puppy or a young dog, and it’s not had the experience… It doesn’t know about the dangers of roads and vehicles… So you have to train the dog to come to heel, or sit at the edge of the sidewalk before you cross.

Re-Learn The Skill Of Taking Risks In Business

And so this comes back to my recap… I was talking previously about what is your tolerance for taking risks in business. You have to be willing to take risks. And I remembered seeing this not long ago, and it reminded me of what we were talking about before… Which is tolerance of taking risks in business, and being willing to take risks on yourself to get where you want to be.

If you think back to when you’re younger, you didn’t have any issues with risk because you didn’t know of the dangers. The older we become, the more times we’ve been hurt, the more aware of risk we become. And actually for a lot of people, the less tolerant to risk we become, because our natural DNA is to protect us from being hurt, right?

Anyway, just an interesting fact – something to ponder… Moral of the story; you need to get back to a time in your mind when you were less scared of being hurt, and become more willing to take risks in business. So risk tolerance was one of the things we spoke about recently.

Another thing, obviously big news – MOBE being sued by the FTC.

Other news, what’s been happening, geez – busy, busy week in lots of different areas. We are on week two of a 12-month coaching that I’m doing with some of our Certified Partners now. That’s going great – really enjoying seeing people progress.

The moral of the story from that is; focus on one main thing which, if you get that done this week, you’ll progress more than if you spread yourself over all the million and one other things that you could choose to do.

Last time out we actually spoke about how and why building a business should be fun, right? And that video was really well received. I had a few people comment to me on social media about that video, saying it was one of my best. So definitely check that out if you missed it.

Transparency In Our Business At Internet Profits

In that one, I was also talking about transparency in business. And I actually detailed our entire process that we look to take people through. All the way from having no business, up through each stage, and the different programs which we offer that can take people through those stages.

From learning skills and promoting other people’s products first, while you learn to do advertising, building an audience, and following up. Learning those key skills. Then through to being able to build a sustainable full-time income doing that.

And then leveraging those skills that you’ve now mastered, to be able to create your own products. So you can further serve more people, and grow and scale your business.

Then to be able to build your own sales funnels, leading to premium programs and high ticket offers, where you can truly help people and multiply your profits massively. Finally leading to a ‘Mastermind’ group that we have, which costs tens of thousands a year.

And so we’ve got this full progression process. Taking someone from zero, through the stages of building their businesses. It’s the exact path that I followed over the last ten years. Only our goal is to condense that period of time down.

I did a lot of trial and error, lost a lot of money along the way. And now, having done it for ten years, I know the path. And so, that’s the path we lay out. You’re gonna see us publishing a lot of videos about all of this going forwards.

Most Online Businesses Are Probably Breaking Some Kind Of Rule

We appreciate that people want to know about us. And that’s one of the good things that’s come out of the recent internet marketing industry upheaval. However I know there’s really no ‘good’ in a sense for those caught up in it.

But y’know, seeing all this stuff with MOBE – it opens your eyes to certain things. And when you see the FTC’s action and legally speaking how certain things are viewed.

First of all I thought, with all the things the FTC has said in the MOBE thing when I looked at it… Most most businesses online were probably breaking some kind of rule. Y’know like using testimonials, and things like that. So you’ve got to be careful. And you’ve got to adapt and adjust.

And that’s one of the things that we’re looking at now, here at Internet Profits. Fully reviewing all of our processes, fully reviewing everything with a fine-tooth comb. Going through it all. And if adjustments have to be made, then so be it. This is what every business has to do.

You adapt, you adjust, and you evolve – constantly. And if you stop evolving, that’s when you cease to exist, y’know. You only have to look historically… Blockbuster – once one of the biggest companies on the planet – no longer exists. And now you have Netflix just crushing it.

After a difficult period of time recently in the online business education industry, Dean Holland gives his thoughts on how to start and build an online business from scratch. He also points to a specific resource designed to free up affiliate marketing beginners to have fun and enjoy building their online businesses…

“Good morning my friend, I hope you’re well. It’s Dean here of course. This has been a rather serious time hasn’t it. So let’s lighten the mood here, in today’s episode of The Drive.

Companies being closed, FTC, widespread panic in the industry, everybody losing out. And yeah, I’m not gonna try and sugar coat that there’s obviously major shockwaves going through the industry. With many people potentially losing out on a lot right now. It’s a very scary situation for a lot of people.

But… I don’t want to focus on that right now. You see, we’ve focused on that quite a bit recently, and I know there’s a lot of people facing scary times. However I want to just switch gears for a moment.

I want to talk about the other side of what people don’t tend to focus on enough. Because… And I know what it’s like, right? I’ve been there, when you’re trying desperately to start and build an online business and things aren’t going your way.

Stuff’s going wrong! You’re spending money, losing money, trying things, failing at things. Y’know, buying and trying everything that comes across your path and into your email inbox.

And it’s frustrating, and overwhelming, and it’s tiring. Everyone around you is doubting you, and all you want to do is silence them. But you can’t, because nothing’s going your way, right?

It Should Be Fun To Start And Build An Online Business

But I want to just switch to the other side. I want to remind you that building a business should be fun. It’s simple – the work you have to actually do. Don’t mistake me though – it’s not easy, right?

It’s simple in terms of the things that you have to learn and do to start and build an online business. Meaning it’s not like becoming a brain surgeon is it? Let’s be honest… It’s not like you’ve got to spend the next 5-10 years stuck in college or university getting degrees with a doctor watching over your shoulder.

It’s not like that, right? We’re literally at home at our computer or wherever we choose to work from, and we’re trying to learn and implement in a few key areas to be successful, to get results.

I think where the frustration starts to come in is that people don’t know what those areas are. If I look back on myself, I can remember it felt like there was a million and one things to do. I was a “busy fool”. I was working and grinding at the computer hours and hours each day, not sleeping, juggling work life, computer life, and family life.

And it was tiring, because I just didn’t have a plan. I didn’t have direction, didn’t have help, didn’t have support. And it’s tough, tough, tough, in that sense.

But I’ll tell you that it’s worth it. It is hard work, but it is worth it.

Are You Looking For Someone To Tell You That It Can Be Push-Button Easy?

And there’s that good old transparency that the FTC are looking for… You’re looking for someone to tell you that it can be push-button easy. And this is one of the problems in this darn industry. People don’t want to hear that it’s hard work to start and build an online business.

Everybody blames the product creators, but let’s for a moment think about what people are looking for. People don’t want to hear that it’s hard work to build an online business from scratch. That it takes time, that it takes energy, that it takes hard work and effort, and it takes money.

No one wants to hear that, right? So for a product creator selling their own products, it gets tougher and tougher. Because people don’t want to hear that. That’s not what they want to buy. I mean, who wants to buy something that’s hard work?

If I said to you, “I’ve got something you can buy. It can absolutely change your life. It’s gonna be $3,000. I’ll do a lot of the work for you. But then you’re gonna have to put in some hard work, and you’re gonna have to spend 6/12/18 months working hard and focusing. Not doing anything else, not buying other products, not being pulled in different directions. Only doing this, and working hard to follow my directions.”

I know a few might buy, but many are going to be put off. But that’s one of the changes that we made here at Internet Profits over the last 12 months… Is actually to only attract those that are willing and wanting to work for the results.

How To Make It Fun

But let me come back to my original point of today’s Drive… Building a business can and should be fun. Should be enjoyable. Because you’re learning new skills, you’re developing yourself, you’re growing.

It’s a process. And a process that, if you are willing to put in that work, can absolutely pay off and change your life. And that is the truth.

The way to make it more fun is to actually invest in yourself, and get the help as early on as you can. Don’t let it reach the stage of becoming not fun. Don’t let it get to the stage where you despise sitting at the computer because you’re so overwhelmed and frustrated every day.

“So what’s a good starting point then, Dean? Tell me!”

Well if you are looking to follow the path that I did, which is to… First learn a few key skills, where you don’t have to spend years creating your own products, or learning to get to that stage and becoming an expert. Then you should start off looking at affiliate marketing, right?

Traditional Affiliate Marketing Is Dead

Now affiliate marketing has completely changed over the years. It’s not the same as it used to be. Traditional affiliate marketing no longer works. And I touched on this a bit the other day.

But without going into it, I’ve got a free, short read. It’s like 20 pages. I call it a playbook for affiliate marketers. It shows you exactly what to do. Just cover shipping and handling. Grab a copy of that now…

Anyway that’s not what this is about. But do grab that playbook afterwards here. Once you do that, then you can focus on learning those key skills to start and build an online business.

Now to be transparent with you, my end goal is not for you to just get that book and it changes your life. The goal of that book is that it opens your eyes and shows you the truth. Then my ultimate next step for you is that I want you to become one of our Certified Partners, okay?

Start And Build An Online Business From Scratch For A Full Time Sustainable Income

Now my goal there – not saying this is the result – but my goal for you, okay… Again, keep it FTC happy, right? I’m not promising or guaranteeing anything at all. But my personal goal for people is that you start and build an online business that can provide you with a full time, sustainable income.

Meaning that it can get you out of your job, or supplement that pension if that’s where you’re at in life. Now that, again, is not even my end goal. I’ll be honest, right? What I would then love to happen is for you to say, “Well, now I’m doing this successfully, I’d love to learn how to create my own products using my own knowledge and expertise now, and create my own funnel, Dean.”

Then we’re going to have a program for that, and we’re going to move you into a program called Expansion. And that’s going to then allow you to create your own products, build your own funnels, and use those skills you’ve already got, and the money you’re now earning when you complete the previous stage… To then be able to grow your business further by scaling it with your own products.

And then that’s STILL not the end goal. Because what I then want to happen, is for you to join a high-level ‘Mastermind’ where you become one of just a hundred people that we’re going to invite into our Mastermind. And then we can continue working together.

Following along from the MOBE FTC shutdown reaction post from last month, here’s Dean Holland’s MOBE FTC update, and some further advice on how to move forward by building your own assets in your online business…

“Good morning everybody. Dean here of course. Welcome to today’s episode of The Drive, taking place actually at Internet Profits HQ here in our video studio.

I messed up! I went to do today’s Drive in the car and I was talking to myself. Got to the office and I hadn’t pressed the darn record button! So I’ve popped into the video studio. We’ve just been working on a few things – setting up and completing our live streaming capabilities.

Now I want to just talk about something… A few days ago I did a video about MOBE – that it looked like they’ve been pulled down. It looked like, at that time, they had been pulled down by the FTC and shut down… MOBE FTC update… That has now been confirmed.

MOBE FTC Update

If you go to their website, the receivers letter is up there, and there’s all kinds of legal stuff that now will ensue. Reading some of the stuff, it looks like a lot has been happening. I’m sure MOBE will be fighting this, and they’re gonna be having their day in court, so we’ll see what happens.

And what I would say is that I feel, y’know above all, sorry for the people that are directly impacted who have just invested and spent money. I can’t speak as to whether MOBE has done anything wrong.

I’ve seen some of their products. I’ve seen great content and things from Matt Lloyd in the past. And so everything looked good to me. But I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, right? So I can’t speak to that.

But what I can say is – that there will be a lot of people obviously who can no longer access the things that they’ve paid for. And some customers have spent thousands, even tens and tens of thousands – and now have zero access. Some people even paid, like, days before it was all shut off. So what an absolute mess!

I think right now, there’s a lot of shock and fear in the industry. Y’know like…

“Why Do All These Companies Keep Being Shut Down?”

Well I want to give you… Obviously let me just throw a disclaimer up here… I’m not a lawyer, not a legal representative of any kind, in any way shape or form. These are all just my own personal views and opinions. So make sure you do all your own research.

But what I can speak of is just some, like, common sense stuff that we all need to make sure we adhere to. So for example, not making guarantees or promises of outcomes, right? You cannot legally, morally, or ethically guarantee an outcome.

It’s even risky territory to even hint at what’s possible. Because it could be decided that you’re making it suggestive that everybody can do this. And typically not everybody’s going to be able to do something. So you’ve got to make sure you’re not making promises or guarantees of income.

Testimonials… Y’know, it’s a big area. And you know what’s crazy? When you actually understand the laws and you look into these things, you’ll realize that probably nearly all companies are violating some laws to some degree.

Look at the weight loss industry. They show these transformations. Well, is it true? Is it true and correct that the average person is experiencing these transformations?

In the make money online space – is it true, when you show these testimonials, that the average person is getting this result?

Is The Average Person Getting Results As Advertised?

Even when you have software, and tools, and solutions, and services… When you show something like, “Oh look at this amazing website that one of our clients has got and is making all these sales.” Is that a typical result?

Y’know for example, even with Shopify. Chris on the team here was actually telling me earlier that something like 95% of Shopify’s revenue… And I might be off with the percentages… But 95% of Shopify is revenue was coming from people that weren’t actually doing anything with their store.

Kind of like gym memberships! I bet a lot of gyms make most of their money from people that don’t even go, right?

And when you look at all these things, there are some widespread practices a lot of people are doing, that actually the FTC would deem as wrong.

So make sure you’re not making promises, or guarantees of results and outcomes. Be careful with using any kind of testimonies or anything like that. Make sure you’re being transparent – on what your customer is entitled to, what ensues after purchase, and what your product requires them to do.

If you’re selling something – but then, in order to use it… So, say if you’re selling a widget for a website. And in order for somebody to use that widget, they actually need to make sure that they’ve got other things. Well, they need to know from you that they’ve also got to have these other things. So transparency is a big thing.

And we could go on and on. But just use your common sense… “Am I saying stuff on my website that could potentially be misleading, or misrepresenting, or making unsubstantiated claims, making promises or guarantees of outcomes?” So anyway, do your own research.

MOBE Won’t Be The Last Online Business Education Company To Be Shut Down

But I just wanted to share a few little tips that could help. Because at the end of the day, MOBE isn’t the first company to be shut down. And it sure as heck won’t be the last.

I mean we’ve seen companies come and go in this market space over the last few years alone. Some big ones, y’know. There was Empower Network – gone, now bankrupt, dead. Digital Altitude sued by the FTC – currently still non-existent. Now MOBE. And so if you look at these companies, there are patterns. People were doing the same stuff.

And if you are one of the unfortunate people that has lost out because of this currently… I mean, who knows? MOBE might be able to win their case. I don’t know at this stage.

But as I said in my video the other day, what you’ve got to do is protect yourself and learn from this experience. Make sure that you are building your own assets.

You can utilise other people’s products and marketing systems, y’know – affiliate marketing and network marketing. But build your own assets, your own audiences, your own email list. Don’t just send your traffic direct to other companies.

In Network Marketing Or Affiliate Marketing, Build And Control Your Own Assets

If you’re in network marketing, affiliate marketing or any of that kind of stuff, build your own assets. Build your own email list, control your own website. Have your own blog, your own fan pages, your own ad accounts, your own lists, your own autoresponder.

Have control of as much as you can control. Because if something happens to go wrong for a company you’re promoting, for example, and you put 100% of your work over there… So you weren’t building your own list, you didn’t have your own blog, you didn’t have your own website… Then you can end up like a lot of people are now – and it’s it’s terrifying in that sense.

So I have the utmost sympathy for everyone who has been impacted by this. The reality is now that it is confirmed, it is fact, and you just have to really take this and learn from it. And I know that’s not nice to hear, because some people really are losing a lot right now. And I sympathize with you, with the utmost respect.

But I can’t do anything for you, other than to say, learn from this. Hopefully there’s a positive resolution and you don’t lose out. Even if this does have a positive resolution, learn from this and adapt. Don’t allow yourself to be in this situation again.

Do you consider yourself a risk taker in life, particularly with money? Here’s some insight from Dean Holland on how your level of risk tolerance may be holding you back from achieving your dreams in life and in your business…

“Good morning my friend. Dean here of course, on the way to Internet Profits HQ. Welcome to today’s episode of The Drive. How are you doing?

It is rainy and gloomy here in the UK. Not gonna lie – pretty tired today. I feel low on energy. I wish I’d got up this morning, gone to the gym, done some exercise or something – to really get that blood pumping around my body. But y’know, some days you just can’t do it.

Long, long day ahead right now. It’s like about 8 o’clock in the morning. I’m actually hosting a webinar at 11 p.m. tonight that’ll probably go on to like 1 a.m. in the morning. So what’s that? That’s like a 16 hour day or something? Definitely not one of my typical days anymore – used to be – but not anymore.

But I’m excited because I get to test out a new webinar presentation – a new training – and help deliver more value to people. And I want to talk about something today. Something I’ve been thinking about. And that’s dealing with risk.

How Does A High Level Of Risk Tolerance Help?

I’ve been through a lot of stuff myself. And as I look back, I think I’ve got quite a high risk tolerance. It’s like, I’m not afraid to take risks. I’m not saying risk doesn’t bother me or scare me. But it doesn’t stop me, y’know what I mean? I’m quite a high risk tolerant person.

And because of that, if I look at things over the years, I feel it’s a quality that has got me into some difficulties. But outweighing that are the benefits a high level of risk tolerance has brought me.

I see a lot of people, for example… Y’know, we’re talking of doing webinars… So I see a lot of people when I do a webinar. I see some people that know they need what’s being offered, and they want it deep down. But their fear of taking a risk on themselves, and on the products if their trust isn’t 100%…. The risk will stop them from moving forwards, and they stay in a stationary zone where they feel comfortable.

A lot of people are comfortable to spend $20, $30, $40 or one hundred dollars on a product. And they’ll do that over and over again, amassing thousands and thousands of dollars in spend.

But their level of risk tolerance wouldn’t allow them to spend $5,000 or $3,000 or $2,000 in one go, for something that could help them much more significantly than the tons of fifty dollar products they have sitting on their hard drive. Do you know what I mean?

And so I want you to have a look at yourself and think about this. Think about where you feel your level of risk tolerance is. Are you a low risk tolerance person? Therefore you stay in a low threshold comfort zone? Or do you feel you’re a high risk tolerance person, and therefore you don’t allowed the fears of risk to stop you from moving forward?

The True Value of Taking Risks

Am I talking about being naive and stupid, and making ridiculous decisions because you don’t think anything through? No… But I’ll be honest – I was there, at one stage in my life. That is why I say my high level of risk tolerance has got me into some difficulties.

But what I’m saying is – is that you should realise that all advances and progression in life, generally speaking from my experience, come from taking risks.

Taking a risk;

• To say, “This is what I want to do.”
• On actually doing it.
• On believing in yourself, when others around you may have doubts.
• To invest in yourself, when you’ve been let down before.
• To invest in yourself, when you’ve let yourself down before.
• On yourself, when things have not gone to plan previously.

If you can push through that comfort zone which prevents you doing these things, then you’ll find that you’re actually able to break through and make progress.

I took a risk in moving out of my comfort zone in my home office… Having huge profit margins… To taking on a significant office space for a minimum of five years – but actually a ten-year lease.

Why? Because I went all-in. I took a risk on growing the team. Possibly even before we were financially in a strong enough and clear enough position to grow it as fast as I did. But I know where I wanted to be. And so, what did I do?

I took a risk. A risk that is paying off, that will pay off because I will make it pay off. Often people say, “Why do you put in these long days?” Why? Because I take risks on myself. And sometimes that’s what is required, to make the risks I take pay off for myself.

Are You Crazy Enough To Be An Entrepreneur?

Think about that. Bit of a random topic here today. Discussion of risk and risk tolerance. But I feel your level of risk tolerance will define where you are best investing yourself. I think this is probably why it’s not the right decision for everyone to actually be an entrepreneur, and to run their own business. Because I think you do have to be slightly crazy, and high risk tolerant to run your own business.

It is very much low risk and secure to a degree, to work at a company, get paid a salary, show up every day, do your absolute best, over deliver in your job, and walk out that door at the end of the day. The person running the company has a much higher level of risk, because s/he’s paying those people, paying all the expenses… And only if things are paying off, does s/he get to pay himself or herself.

So different situations suit different people. It wouldn’t suit everyone to be an employee. And it wouldn’t suit everyone to be an entrepreneur. And I think your level of risk tolerance plays a part in a lot of where you will fit in life.

But that being said, don’t accept where you currently fit if you strive for more. That’s where you’ve got to sometimes break through the level of risk tolerance that you may feel you have, and expand into a new role in your life.

If you’ve been in the make money online / internet marketing space for a few years, you may well remember the online business coaching scheme called “My Online Business Education”, or MOBE for short.

In 2018 MOBE was shut down by the FTC for “falsely claiming that their business education program will enable people to start their own online businesses and earn substantial income”.

At the beginning of the week back then, when this news was breaking, Dean started to share his thoughts on the matter. And there’s a really important lesson still to be learned today from what happened, for both network marketers and affiliate marketers…

“Good morning my friend. Dean Holland here of course, on the way to Internet Profits HQ on this fine morning. Welcome to today’s episode of The Drive. Had a great weekend. The week is here upon us. A day that I used to dread. But a day that I now love.

There’s nothing better than – well, in my humble opinion – there’s nothing better than running your own business. And we’ve got a bit of a big issue to talk about this morning. But just before we get to that, hope you had a great weekend. I had a busy one myself.

So Saturday lunchtime, my fiancé Robyn and I went for lunch with my mum and her husband. We went to a nice seafood restaurant and had some amazing food. Later that evening we went to see a charity boxing fight with a friend of ours who was raising money for cancer research.

And then yesterday, Sunday, we actually went to an outdoor open-air Lionel Richie concert. Years ago I remember Robyn saying to me that one of her bucket list things in life was to see Lionel Richie in concert.

She said her mum was a big, big fan when she was growing up, so she listened to a lot of his music. And so I took her this weekend to see Lionel Richie in concert, which was awesome. A really great day – sun was shining – just beautiful!

MOBE FTC News – Huge Shake-Up!

But all while this was going off, I started reading about a huge, huge shake up in the internet marketing space over the weekend. Now I will just put a bit of a disclaimer here at the start.

Right now, everything that I’ve read so far is speculation and assumption. Nobody has an official kind of wording. Although you could say an official post was put out by representatives of the company inside of a private Facebook Group. So you can kind of say that there has been some level of an official stand, without too much more beyond that.

So MOBE… One of the biggest, most sizable companies in the internet marketing space right now… Sadly appears to have been taken down by the FTC.

Now I don’t know why. Right now we don’t know what’s going on. But all that’s very clear and very obvious is that, at a certain point over the last few days, every single one of MOBE’s websites were taken down and are no longer online.

What we do know is that there has been a post inside of MOBE’s private Facebook Group saying that the tech team have stated that the FTC have taken down their websites, and that they are under investigation by the FTC.

Matt Lloyd And MOBE

Now this is obviously a terrible, terrifying and horrific occurrence, And my thoughts, sincerely… I mean, I don’t know the guy personally, but my thoughts go out to Matt Lloyd and MOBE. Obviously something’s happening, something’s gone wrong.

And I can’t say too much on this. All I will say is that, if you’re in MOBE, and if you’ve been affected by this – obviously if you’re in MOBE, you have been affected by this. What I will say is, “What can you do?”

Well I did spend a little bit of time reading a lot of the comments. There have literally been over a thousand comments in the Group just on this one post alone that I read. And, y’know, I see people talking about praying and hoping, which I understand if you’re religious. And if you want to do that, that’s fantastic.

But I just want everyone to also be realistic and understand that this potentially could – even if they win this battle – still could potentially be a very, very long process.

I’m only saying that based off of previous things that have happened in the industry that I’ve seen – of companies being taken down. You can be a year or sometimes more under investigation with all this going on.

I followed Matt Lloyd. I’ve seen his stuff for many years. And y’know, I believe that he and his company does great things. I’ve learned a lot over the years from MOBE. And I’ve taken inspiration from his achievements. It’s been nothing short of incredible to see that.

What’s Happening With MOBE And The FTC?

But obviously along the way, something has to have gone wrong somewhere. My personal opinion is that obviously the FTC get involved if there are a considerable number of complaints. You don’t get just one or two complaints come in, and then the FTC launch a huge investigation at a cost of probably a millions of dollars potentially.

There has to have been a lot going on. And rightly or wrongly, this is obviously devastating news for people. And that’s what I want to kind of speak to here…

Whatever you are doing online in your business… Particularly let’s talk about if you are a network marketer or an affiliate marketer, and you’re promoting other people’s products of any kind…

You really need to ensure that you are building your own audience. Building your own brand, if you like. Connecting people with YOU, and not just driving traffic to a company.

Because it’s here where I feel incredibly sorry for anybody that’s in MOBE. Y’know any of MOBE’s ‘Consultants’ or whatever it is that they call them – the people in the downlines or whatever. I don’t know the full ins and outs of MOBE’s business model, just what I’ve read in the last 24 hours.

If you’ve put yourself in that situation, and you haven’t been building your own audience… Then you’re in a world of pain right now, because you have nothing now. Do you know what I mean? It’s a situation where, if that’s happened to you – you have to now grow and develop and be better going forwards.

If You’re In MOBE, What Can You Do?

And it’s a very tough lesson, a very expensive lesson. But the biggest takeaway of all here is that you have to build your own audience.

You have to be driving your own traffic, building your own audience and email list, getting that list to know, like and trust you – through offering continual value, through consistent follow-up and communication with them. So therefore no one can ever take that away from you. And that’s the biggest thing, y’know.

And we obviously have Certified Partners in our company… We do have a “done-for-you” solution, where we provide people with offers, and sales funnels, and programs, and marketing materials. But one of the things that we heavily do is…

We insist on people building their own audience, driving their own traffic. And we have extensively spent significant sums of money to bring the right training and the right people in, to ensure that people do that. And I think, out of all the things we could say here, that’s the biggest thing of all.

I am now here at Internet Profits HQ. To anybody this has affected, y’know, hang in there. Who knows what’s gonna happen. It’s a very sad and scary thing for a lot of people. Some people are gonna have some expensive lessons here. But what I just said here would be my biggest key takeaway.

Especially online, the importance of adapting to change in business will always be a key factor of your success or failure over time. Also here’s a well known but shocking example of a business that failed to adapt online…

“Good morning my friend, what is happening? How are you doing? Dean here of course, on the way to Internet Profits HQ on this fine, glorious day.

It is 7:26 in the morning right now, and I’m not gonna lie… You can probably tell by the look on my face. I am exhausted! It has been a long week.

Last week I was actually overseas for a week in Greece, in a small island called Kefalonia. I was actually attending a wedding. And we still haven’t pulled all the footage together, so I’ve got plenty still to show you from this.

But nonetheless, I didn’t access my computer, other than maybe to send a couple of emails and communicate with the team a little bit. But I didn’t DO anything. So I’ve now got tons of stuff that I’m catching up on.

We’re really busy at the moment – busy with setting a lot of stuff up. We’re optimising and testing, and doing a lot of things to do with our funnel, and with setting up automated webinar campaigns. Building lots of different things.

Changes That Have Affected The Internet Marketing Space

And there’s been a few changes that have been happening in the internet marketing space that have caused a few little snags along the way.

For example, the first one that comes to mind is Google recently making changes to to their their Google Chrome browser. Meaning that they have stopped allowing auto-playing videos to auto-play. And y’know, there’s people trying to find workarounds for this I think. There are a few different solutions cropping up, which may or may not be any good.

So it’s just been a bit of a pain. Just obviously adapting to change in business. And a few other changes that are kind of occurring right now…

Facebook have been making changes… For example, they have been getting rid of a few things, such as their Audience Insights tool – which now no longer exists (*). Which is a real shame because it was really helpful.

(*) Note: Facebook Audience Insights is still there of course. But in back 2018 when Dean was recording this content, Facebook removed the ability to analyse custom audiences from customer data or from the Facebook Pixel due to user privacy concerns.

And y’know, it’s such a pain-in-the-ass when a lot of this kind of stuff changes! It’s not just that you lose it… It’s that a lot of the products that you create – the trainings, tutorials and the advice you give people – centres around some of the stuff that you’ve been using yourself, and are familiar with.

So when this stuff goes, it’s not only a drawback for your own business – in the sense of your usability and the utility of that particular tool or service when things change. But additionally, if you’ve got products about them, then all those products no longer make sense. People try to follow them, and the stuff’s just not there.

Online Platforms, Services And Tools Are Completely Outside Of Your Control

Needless to say, I think this raises an important point… That you have to be – when you’re running a business, particularly in an online space where there are lots of online platforms, services and tools that you use, which are completely outside of your control…

You have to be open and willing to adapting to change in business – you have to be willing to adapt. You have to be willing to make alterations. And be willing to not just moan about it.

Y’know, me talking about it now… It’s not, “Ah, my life’s falling apart! Google stopped this. And Facebook have changed that. Now the world’s gonna end!” This is not moaning. It’s like, “Oh, this change is happening right now. That’s a bit crappy for these reasons. So I have to adapt.”

And that’s really the message of the video… You have to be willing and able to adapt, when you’re in business. You HAVE to, right? Because times change. Things change. Particularly I can say here at Internet Profits – sometimes we’ll completely switch. Like, we’ll be doing stuff, and all of a sudden priorities change.

It’s an exciting environment to work in, and operate in. I remember when I used to be in jobs that I hated. You show up every day, and every day is the same. You’re just like a robot. It’s like ‘do this-do that’ robotic, y’know.

Whereas here, although we’ve got certain tasks that are kind of like that. I think that’ll always be the case. But there’s a lot of excitement when we’re thinking of new plans, projects and different things that we’re doing. Different videos, different approaches, different concepts, different products… It’s very exciting to me and the rest of the team as well.

But it also brings an element of madness, because you have to be willing to adapt and switch quickly and constantly in the moment – adapting to change in business. The amount of times where we’re like, “Right, we’ve got to stop – we’ve gotta do this.” y’know?

Adapting To Change In Business And An Example Of A Business That Failed To Adapt

So you’ve got to be willing to adapt. Don’t hang on to anything like it’s gonna be there forever. Be willing and able to move fast, adapt fast. Don’t get caught in the past.

Adapt with the changes – adapt into the future. It’s always gonna be this way. The amount of changes that I’ve encountered over the last decade and more, operating with an online business on the internet. It’s phenomenal!

And if you don’t adapt, then you cease to exist. It’s as simple as that.

Here’s a popular example of a business that failed to adapt to change online… Look at Blockbuster for example. They now cease to exist. I think I read that Blockbuster had the opportunity to buy Netflix a long, long, time ago – and they didn’t!!

I bet there are people in the world now that look back on these things and say, “If only we adapted. If only we made changes.”

So you’ve got to think about these things. You’re in an online space. The world changes. Business changes. Platforms change. You have to change, you have to adapt – adapting to change in business… Because if you don’t – as I say – you will cease to exist.

It’s easy to get busy with so many different things that need doing, when you’re trying to build your online business fast. So how do you know what’s best to focus on right now in your online business? Here’s Dean’s with a simple piece of advice, and some examples from his latest workshop…

“Hey, hey, hey! What is happening, my friend? Dean here of course, on the way to Internet Profits headquarters on this glorious morning.

If you’ve been following along recently, you’ll know that I’ve been speaking about the fact that I’ve been getting started with, and running a new coaching program. Just working with a small number of people.

And we kicked off the program where everyone had 30 minutes of one-on-one time. In a group setting, they had one-on-one time with me. Telling me everything about where they’re at right now and so on.

This was only made available to our Certified Partners by the way.

How To Build Your Online Business Fast

I want to share the approach that I took with those people this week. Because, I think that if you do this in your business, this is how you experience the biggest, most significant progress and breakthroughs, week after week, which will build your online business fast.

One of the biggest battles that we face, as we start and grow our online business, is the feeling – or sometimes the actual reality – of having a lot of things to do.

But for a lot of people, it is more a ‘feeling’ than a reality… There are a million and one things to do, right? Because you can become what a mentor of mine used to call, “A busy fool“.

Meaning that it feels like there are a gazillion things to work on. But very few of those things are actually going to make an impact on your income.

And so, here’s what I said to these people this week… We spent probably about 20 to 30 minutes going over where they’re at right now…

What they’re currently doing, what they’re stuck with, what their strategy is, what ideas they have, what their method of content creation is (if they’re going to pursue a method of content creation). What their desired platform for paid advertising is… As pretty much most, if not all of these people are doing paid traffic, even if starting with a small budget.

So after we went through those things, I spent 10 minutes… And pretty much the question I asked of myself, in order to respond to this and give them this information, was…

What Are The Key One Or Two Things…

“What is the number one…” Or “What are the key one or two things that they could do over the next seven days, which would lead to the biggest progress, breakthrough, impact and income in their business?” (Not, “What’s everything that needs doing?”)

And I was able to then say, “Right, here are your action steps for this week that you need to do.” And I didn’t give anyone a million things, or ten things, or even five things to do.

They all had one or two main things that they needed to get done this week.

Whether that was… Creating a case study of their results. Completing and getting their website live. Writing a new ad for Facebook. Recording a new video for Facebook. Completing their email sequence to plug into their autoresponder.

Whatever those one or two things were – that’s what I said to get done. And that’s what I want to say to you, right? Because there’s a high probability that you may be experiencing the same feeling – that there are a million and one things to do.

And believe me, it is easy to find things to do, right? You’ve probably experienced that for yourself. It is always easy to make yourself busy. Always, right? For any of us.

But… What are the key one or two things that you could do over the next seven days, that – if you demolished those – would make the biggest impact to the income of your business?

Eighty Percent Of My Efforts Today Will Be On This

Me, for example. I’ve a lot of things I could do, I’ve a lot of things that need doing. But for me right now, the main thing… Eighty percent of my efforts today, and over the next few days, is going into a webinar project.

Because I know that by completing and getting this webinar project ready to roll out… It is literally going to be able to start generating thousands of dollars every day. And reaching dozens of new people a week, who we can work with and help. Therefore increasing the impact and the income that we’re able to make, by focusing on this one thing.

Within that one thing, there’s a few other things that have to be done. For example, we’re working with a copywriter who’s helping us with our email sequences. We’re optimising a few things to do with the presentation.

I have a video to shoot for the JV page, where we’re actually going to reach out to our Partners about doing joint ventures with this webinar promotion. So there are many smaller things within that. But d’you see what I mean?

So for example, to the person that I mentioned about creating the new ad. They’ve got to take images, write the story, get the link ready. So there’s always little things within…

But what’s that BIG domino? The thing that, when you knock it over – when you demolish that thing – is going to make the biggest impact and income in your business within the next seven days, and that will really start to build your online business fast.

So always consider that. Because it’s easy to be busy, but not so simple to get focused. But when you do, and you define that one big thing for this next seven days, and you demolish that – then you’ll see the biggest progress.

When’s the right time to consider virtual assistant outsourcing? And how about the question of what to outsource to a virtual assistant? Outsourcing to a virtual assistant is a critical step to grow your online business, especially if you’re just a business of one person. Here’s some pretty useful insight and guidance on the subject…

“Hey, good morning my friend. As you can see this is a very different setting. Why? Well I’m actually in my house. This is one of our spare rooms here.

I want to actually address a specific topic today. A lot of times on The Drive, I’m kind of just talking about what it is we’re up to and various things like that, which I will always keep doing.

But today, I want to actually answer a specific thing. And there’s a few topics that I really want to address. So probably over the next few Drives, I’m actually going to address specific topics.

The first of these topics though – let me just address one specific one here… When do you know it’s right to start outsourcing things? And how do you do it? What should you outsource?

So really, we’re going to talk about outsourcing for a few minutes. Y’know, when you’re building an online business, and in life in general, you only really have two main sort of ‘commodities’ (or whatever you want to call them) that you can put in.

One is time, and the other is money. And the way I think about money in the business is…

Money Allows Me To Buy Back Time

That’s kind of how I view it. It’s like you’ve got – imagine if you’ve got two coupons. You’ve got ‘time coupons’, and you’ve got ‘money coupons’. And you’ve got to spend them, like, they’re both being spent.

Say every day, you’ve got one-hour blocks. So you’ve got 24 ‘one-hour block’ coupons in a day of your time. And then money – however much money you have – to put into your business.

Every hour that goes by, you’re spending a time coupon. And they don’t come back – they are very limited, right? And you have money coupons that you can put into your business as well.

Now obviously, that money has to be allocated to everything that you do in your online business. So, for example, you’re going to need money for website hosting, you’re going to need money for an autoresponder, you’re probably going to need money – as soon as possible – for paid advertising.

And of course the other thing to consider – which is what we’re talking about here – is how do you buy back some time?

Because the LAST thing that you want to do, especially long-term, is to build a business that does not allow you to be away from running the business.

So you have to be able to buy back those time coupons. And you use money coupons to buy back the time – and therefore, you free up your time, okay? So now you can do with it what you want. Does that make sense?

Because we all have 24 hours in a day. And so when you are able, you want to…

Start Looking At Virtual Assistant Outsourcing

But what to outsource to a virtual assistant? Now on a basic level, when you are just a business of one, some of the things you want to outsource would be the tasks that really are not profit producing tasks, not income generating activities. And you want to try and replace yourself from those.

So for example, let me give you a rough bit of guidance as to the sort of things that I did outsource early on… Sort of like, ‘virtual assistant’ type tasks – checking emails, responding to emails possibly, posting blog posts, uploading your videos or podcasts if you do those.

Y’know, anything that’s not directly contributing towards income and sales coming into your business – you want to ultimately be looking to start virtual assistant outsourcing as soon as you can. Especially those kind of administrative types of tasks, okay?

The way in which you go about this is – do a full list. Grab a trusty, old-school traditional pen and paper, and write down like every single thing that you do on a day-to-day basis to operate your online business.

What To Outsource To A Virtual Assistant

Everybody’s going to be doing different stuff – so it’s kind of a ‘general’ process. Write every single thing down that you, until you’ve exhausted this whole list.

And then as time goes on – each day, keep checking on, “Am I doing something that’s not on my list?” Then add it to the list, and keep adding until you’ve got this exhaustive list.

Then you’re gonna do this interesting thing, where you’re going to circle… “Which of these things that I’m doing, directly affects my income?”

So for example, creating a video which you can post online that can be used as an ad, or used as content to attract traffic.

That would be something which would impact your sales, because it allows you to get traffic and therefore make sales. Placing an ad online, directly impact sales. Sending an email to your list, when you have one, directly impacts income. You see where I’m heading with this, right?

You’re gonna circle all these things. Then what you’re gonna be left with is a LOT of stuff. And I guarantee you, it’ll probably work out somewhere along the 80/20 principle.

Eighty percent of the stuff on that bit of paper will not be your income producing tasks. And those are the sorts of things that you could start to say, “Right, is this something I can outsource?”

And when you’re at the earliest stages and you don’t have tons of money to put in, perhaps then obviously you’re gonna have to juggle how much you can afford to put in to virtual assistant outsourcing, to be able to free myself up from this stuff.

But eventually, as time goes on and your business grows and everything’s going in a great direction…

You Will ONLY Want To Be Focusing On Those Income Producing Tasks

I think mostly you’re probably going to be looking at your first outsource being a virtual assistant. How do you get one? Well, we always use sites a site called UpWork.com (used to be called oDesk). And on there you can basically list any job.

So if you’re looking for virtual assistant outsourcing you’ll be able to list all the tasks that you’re looking for someone to do. Now just bear in mind that it’s not normally likely to find one single person that can do everything you need doing.

This is why you’ve got to look, and list, and be open and honest, and look for what skills people have. But you’d list your job, put it up there, and people will start to apply and submit their information, their skills and experience, and things like that.

That’s kind of how you would go about things. So, see what you can find. And you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised how low-cost you can get virtual assistant outsourcing, to take some of those tasks off your hands.

To be honest, early on, you’re not going to need somebody for a lot of hours. So you might be talking, you know… Even just outsourcing to a virtual assistant for a couple of hours a day right?

Just have somebody for a couple of hours a day to take care of some of those things. You’re probably looking at, like, five to eight dollars a day, okay?

And so, for five to eight dollars a day, you can really free up a lot of your time – and buy that time back – and put it on the income producing tasks.

We all have the same number of hours every day as each other. But most of us are busy with many responsibilities in our lives. So how do you find time to work on your business? Here’s some insight on how manage your time and get your priorities straight…

“Hey, good morning everybody. Dean here, of course. But not on the way to Internet Profits headquarters this morning. As you might tell if you watch us regularly – you will know that I’m always wearing the same stuff. But not today.

I have a white shirt on because we’ve actually been to a wedding this morning, hence why I’m dressed like this. (I know I said ‘good morning’ but it’s actually early afternoon – I got stuck in a pattern there.) Just on the way back home now, where I’m going to do some work.

Y’know, most of people have a lot of things going on in their day to day lives, right? It’s like, you have a ton of stuff that you’re doing. Maybe you’ve got a part-time or full-time job still. Perhaps you’ve got children or relatives who depend on you.

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice To Find Time To Work On Your Business?

You’ve got all these other things going on, and yet at the same time you’re trying to start and grow your business online. And a lot of people, to be honest, they’re not willing to sacrifice.

I see a lot of people say they want certain things, say they want to live a certain way, say they want to accomplish and achieve certain goals. Yet they’re not sacrificing enough to do it.

Like take today for example. There’s tons of stuff that I could and should be doing in the office for the business, But today, my priorities meant going to this wedding, right? Obviously y’know, family and weddings took priority.

So does that mean that I say, “Well, there’s no point me doing anything today because I’ve lost most of the day.” No. Instead what I’m gonna do is go back and I’m gonna do a bit of work on my laptop at home this afternoon and this evening.

Everyone Should Commit at least 1-2 Hours A Day To Their Online Business

And so, I’m always looking for ways to still get done what I need to get done. There’s some days that you can’t actually do anything, right? But you don’t then say, “Oh well, that’s gone.” Instead you say, “Right, how do I make that time up?”

I fully believe that everybody, no matter what situation you’re in, no matter what’s going on in your day today… Everybody should be committing at least one to two hours a day to starting and growing their online business.

And if you’re not able to commit and find time to work on your business – two hours each and every day… Whether that means some days you can’t do anything, so the next day you do 3, 4, 5 plus hours. Or at the weekends you put in 5, 6, 7, 8 hours. However it is that you make that time up, you have to sacrifice to do it.

Y’know, that means going without your favourite TV show, or telling your friends at the weekend that you’re busy. Sacrificing the thing that ideally you’d like to do. But at the end of the day, you’ve got to set your priority to find time to work on your business, if that’s what you truly want, right?

If you say that’s what you want, then your actions have to speak louder than your words. And that’s my message for today I guess.

You Have The Same 24 Hours In A Day To Find Time To Work On Your Business

The same amount of hours, the same number of days in a week, same number of weeks in a month, and months in the year.

It’s what you do with this time that counts. So make sure you keep that in mind. Because I definitely see too many people when I’m on social media – you can see it. You pick up on people’s patterns, and you see them.

They say they want this and that, and they complain about this and that – that’s not fair, this isn’t right, someone has an advantage over them, etc. Always these reasons, these excuses as to why they’re not where they want to be.

The reality is you have to take control and responsibility of it, and do more to change that situation and find time to work on your business. And as long as you’re doing that, even if things aren’t happening as quick as you like… Even if the results aren’t as big as you’d like…

Focus On The Right Areas, Don’t Stop, And You’ll Get There, Guaranteed!

As long as you’re doing all you can, and your sacrificing, and you’re committed, and you’re focused. That’s all you can ever ask of yourself. And eventually you’ll get there. Eventually things will turn around and you’ll have made something happen.

And you’ll know that it would have all been worth it. Because at times, you question if you can do it – you question if it’s worth it, you question if you’ve got what it takes. But I guarantee you, when you’re focused on the right areas, and you don’t stop – eventually you get there.

Eventually all this hard work you’re doing, all this sacrifice, all the blood sweat and tears – the tiring nights, and the sleepless nights, and the upset, and the frustration… It’s all worthwhile.
